We had this yesterday as my first smoking attempt on my new grill and it was really good. I’m looking forward to doing it again. The meat was very tender and tasty. I soaked ours for an hour and a quarter and I think I’ll try 2 hours next time to see if it removes more salt. I’ll also change the water half way through for the same reason. Likely just our brand was more salty. It wasn’t really too salty in the sandwich but when you took small pieces for desert there was a little too much.

Next time I’ll cook much more. Our corned beef was only 1.6 pounds, so about 3 good sandwiches by the time it’s ready. That’s a lot of work for 3 sandwiches.

I’m very happy with my first Grillin’ with Dad recipe and it won’t be my last!
